Drop Earring Jungle
23 JanSeems like everyone I know is choosing winter wonderland vacations to don their new faux fur vests this year (yes, all of you at Alt & Sundance…so jealous). Lately, my mind has been wandering to warmer destinations though. I love the cold when it’s accompanied by apres ski and fireside buffets, but not when a real chill hits Austin. Something about the city and hot chocolate just isn’t right…so I had to take myself away with this mashup of earrings.

21 OctA loyal reader who just happens to be one of my best friends wrote in with an earring conundrum. She fell in love with the below $5k drops (dotted with diamonds in the gold hoops) to wear to an upcoming wedding, but would not even dare pay the sticker price. She challenged me to come up with something similar in the $200 range.
I must say that I’m quite pleased with the results. A little deco, some strips of leather and lots of chainmail. Take a look!
